Connect through HTTP MCP with OAuth

Turn local content files into a Gemini CLI publishing batch.

Bring approved markdown, article notes or campaign copy into Gemini CLI. Ask it to find the strongest angles and prepare separate social versions before writing drafts to CPP.

No credit card required.

Choose a time after review. CrossPostingPal publishes scheduled posts at that time.

A publishing workflow for Gemini CLI

  1. Step 1

    Select the source files

Point Gemini CLI at approved material. Ask for distinct angles with factual claims tied to a source file or public link.

  2. Step 2

    Choose the copy and accounts

Review versions for connected destinations. Keep unpublished material and internal notes out of the posts.

  3. Step 3

Send the approved batch through MCP

Create drafts with real account IDs, authorize dates and timezone, then check the resulting queue.

How to use Gemini CLI with CrossPostingPal

  1. Connect your social accounts in CPP.
  2. Merge the configuration below into ~/.gemini/settings.json or your project’s .gemini/settings.json. Use httpUrl for CPP and preserve existing entries.
  3. Start Gemini CLI and run /mcp auth crosspostingpal. Complete CPP OAuth sign-in and approve the requested scopes.
  4. Use /mcp list to inspect the connection. List accounts and create one draft from a selected file before scheduling a batch.

Add your source material and review the result before scheduling.

Read these approved files and propose three social angles. Link claims to sources and omit internal notes. List CPP accounts and show X and Bluesky versions for review. After approval, create drafts and return IDs. Wait for approved dates and timezone before scheduling.

Before you connect

Why does the configuration use httpUrl?

Gemini CLI uses httpUrl for Streamable HTTP MCP. CPP serves a JSON-RPC HTTP endpoint, so use httpUrl rather than an SSE URL.

Do I paste a token into settings.json?

This connection uses OAuth discovery. Authenticate with /mcp auth crosspostingpal; the client handles credentials.

Which social networks can I connect?

New connections are currently available for Instagram, TikTok, X, Bluesky, Mastodon, Dribbble. Instagram, TikTok and Dribbble require media; scheduling and publishing support varies by account. Check the account capabilities before choosing a destination.

Does creating a draft publish anything?

A draft stays unpublished until you schedule or publish it. Scheduling authorizes publication at the selected time; it does not add a mandatory approval step. Review first, then schedule. Immediate MCP publishing requires the separate posts:publish permission.
