Review the copy and destinations
Create drafts through your MCP connection.
Reviewed social posts in your CPP queue
Choose a time after review. CrossPostingPal publishes scheduled posts at that time.
A publishing workflow for Hermes Agent
Step 1
Build on your working context
Give Hermes the week’s public updates, useful links and brand preferences. Ask it to select three useful stories and explain the angle for each.
Step 2
Review from your usual conversation
Ask for separate versions for X, Bluesky or Mastodon. Review the facts, account choices and proposed times before authorizing the batch.
Step 3
Let CPP handle the publishing queue
Hermes discovers your connected accounts and creates drafts through MCP. Once you approve the times, it schedules those drafts in CPP and returns their post IDs.
How to use Hermes Agent with CrossPostingPal
- Create your CrossPostingPal account and connect the social destinations you want to use.
- Merge the configuration below into ~/.hermes/config.yaml for the profile running your assistant. Keep your existing MCP entries.
- From a fresh terminal on the Hermes host, run hermes mcp login crosspostingpal. Open the authorization link, sign in to CPP and approve the permissions. For a remote host, follow the linked Hermes OAuth-over-SSH guide.
- Start a new Hermes session, or restart the gateway used by your messaging assistant. Ask Hermes to list your CPP accounts and create one draft; review it in CPP before scheduling.

Add your source material and review the result before scheduling.
Use these weekly notes and my brand preferences to suggest three social post angles. Include the source link for each. List my connected CrossPostingPal accounts and show separate versions for X and Bluesky. After I approve the copy, create drafts and return the post IDs. Do not schedule until I confirm the dates, times and Europe/Warsaw timezone.
Before you connect
Do I need a separate Hermes plugin or token?
Hermes supports remote MCP with OAuth. Use the configuration above and sign in to CPP; no separate plugin or pasted personal access token is needed. Configure the same Hermes profile and host that runs your assistant.
Can my messaging assistant use the same connection?
Yes, when the gateway uses the configured Hermes profile. Complete OAuth on that host, then restart the gateway so it discovers the CPP tools.
Who runs recurring tasks and who publishes the posts?
Configure recurring preparation in Hermes separately. CPP stores the drafts and publishes posts you schedule at their chosen times. Creating a connection does not create a recurring task or authorize publishing.
Which social networks can I connect?
New connections are currently available for Instagram, TikTok, X, Bluesky, Mastodon, Dribbble. Instagram, TikTok and Dribbble require media; scheduling and publishing support varies by account. Check the account capabilities before choosing a destination.
Does creating a draft publish anything?
A draft stays unpublished until you schedule or publish it. Scheduling authorizes publication at the selected time; it does not add a mandatory approval step. Review first, then schedule. Immediate MCP publishing requires the separate posts:publish permission.
